Challenge
A financial institution like Raiffeisenbank must ensure core business functions are continuously available to several thousand customers, more than 120 branches, as well as partners and other entities. This included many individually designed solutions, such as project management, backup options, change management, and dedicated customer care. Business continuity at a large bank with a secured call centre and several local branches cannot be an afterthought to be implemented during a service failure – it has to be precisely designed and performed daily to maintain service availability, consistency, and recoverability.
Solution
In order to meet data communication requirements regarding bandwidth, redundancy, quality, and cost efficiency, we decided to utilise a solution based on Layer 2 Carrier Ethernet technology. Over 120 Raiffeisenbank branches are now connected to a backbone network of microwave systems. Raiffeisenbank specifically chose this type of access for their business continuity strategy, as professional wireless access provides inherent security for primary terrestrial lines.
We also provided direct voice services to more than 120 Raiffeisenbank branches in all main cities. The voice services portfolio includes PRI 30 redundant connection of Raiffeisenbank call centres and PBXs at its main locations.
