GTS, a company own by Deutsche Telekom, was the only vendor to provide us with comprehensive service in all three of the countries in Central and Eastern Europe in which we currently operate. The selection of GTS resulted from their cost-effective solution offering, created by using flexible Ethernet technology.

Penzias was seeking a partner to provide connectivity for its managed office buildings in the countries in which they operate. The Customer sought a high-speed, L2 solution for major localities and data centers that would permit Customer control of WAN infrastructure. In phase two, the WAN infrastructure would be extended to foreign localities. The Customer requested speed ranges of up to 100 Mbps. The VPN network should service 3,000 business users. GTS also needed to create a SIP trunk network that would be used to make voice calls in Poland, Hungary and Romania.
In order to meet Customer requirements concerning bandwidth, redundancy, quality and last but not least, cost efficiency, GTS implemented a Carrier Ethernet based solution. With a view to further expansion plans, a VPN solution was proposed to provide easy and rapid scalability.
